My Students
My classroom is made up of 20 students in a Title 1 school. This means many students in my class live at or below the poverty level.
I currently have 11 boys and nine girls in my classroom.
Many of these children receive free lunch. We are in a very high crime rate city, which means if these children do not succeed in school they could end up on the streets. Many are already stereotyped to be criminals.
My Project
My student are in need writing journals, paper, and privacy folders so the children can increase their writing skills. They will be able to keep the journals with them each day so they can be reminded of what they had previously written, privacy folders so they don’t copy each other, and paper so they can occasionally turn in what they have written for a grade. I asked for the lined paper and lined journals because the students are still learning how to form letters correctly. Please help us be able to improve our writing through practice by giving us these materials.
