I have eighteen unique students in a high population of Hispanic peers. Their backgrounds range from single parent homes to being raised by grandparents. Each one embodies a very distinct need that requires additional support within the classroom. Numerous students receive additional academic language support outside of the regular classroom.
Even though a majority of my students come from low income families, they are masters at making the best of what they have access to in the classroom.
I desperately want to help my students in any way that I can to excel in school and in life.
I have a class of 18 unique and funny students. We are housed in a portable outside of our main building. Our portable is not covered so, on rainy days we get soaked when going in for lunch, special classes and to use the restroom.
These umbrellas will help my students stay dry when transitioning throughout our school day.
They will be able to focus on learning and growing rather than being uncomfortable in wet clothing waiting to dry out before having to venture back out to get wet all over again. Since my students come from low income families, they are usually not prepared for weather changes. These umbrellas will benefit my students in many ways.
