Our school district has always tried to be a leader in the world of education. We were some of the first to adopt a one-to-one plan, putting iPads in the hands of all our students in hopes they would each have individualized learning and challenges that met their needs. In our district, we don't allow income status to be a barrier for student learning. We do all we can to balance the scales and ensure that every child receives a quality education.
My students are artistic, creative, and hardworking.
They are eager to learn and work together to tackle problems and projects. My students inspire me to be the most effective teacher I can be, but materials are not always in great supply.
My Project
The addition of this television in my classroom will allow my students to view science videos and videos that tie to our english language arts curriculum.
Many of our students will not travel outside of the state of Pennsylvania so I want to bring the world and its' experiences to them.
This television will allow them to travel to places that they are reading about and connect with the characters in the stories at a deeper level. It will show them details about environments that they read and study in science class, but may never step foot in.
We will also be able to use the screen for displaying our classroom management system so that the children can see the points they earn and lose as the day progresses, motivating them to stay on task.
