My students are an incredibly sweet, inquisitive group, always excited to learn new things. They ask a lot of questions when there is an opportunity to explore.
Our class mission statement is, "We will work together to have fun and be our best; we can make our dreams come true!" We wrote it together and repeat it every day.
They are great at supporting and encouraging each other.
Our school is a Title 1 school where over half receive free or reduced lunches. We are in a rural area, but my students all live in town. I have several ESL students. Their academic abilities range from considerably below grade level to well above grade level.
My Project
My students are fortunate to have access to iPads to use to help with their reading skills. The iPad cart does not have headphones however, and the cords on my personal headphones are starting to break.
My students have access to quality online reading programs, but need to only hear their own.
When they they can hear everyone else's, they can't focus! Have you ever tried to concentrate in a room full of audio stories? It just doesn't work. Please help my students be supported on heir own level, without unnecessary distractions!
I am also asking for a laminator, film and cardstock to create games and other manipulatives and activities that make learning fun. There is no sense making things over and over again!
