Our music students learn best by example. They need to be able to hear their music teachers demonstrate correct singing for them every time they come into a music class. They also need for us to be able to move among them, dance with them and play instruments and games with them while we sing.
Our elementary music students are some of the best and most excited learners you may ever meet.
We are truly blessed to have students who come to school ready to learn. We have only a small percentage of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch and our school rating is consistently "A". As wonderful as we have it, we still have some needs for special equipment and extra resources to help us be able to continue to help our students learn and grow, and because we have been successful, we often do not qualify for any extra monies to help fulfill these needs.
My Project
If we could receive these two wireless microphone systems, both of our school's music rooms would be transformed into more "high wattage" learning centers. We music teachers, who often sing for more than 300 minutes a day, would no longer have to try to "save" our voices. We will be able to transfer a lot of the energy that it currently takes to project our voices into more movement, instrument playing and other "hands-on" learning experiences for our students. We also will have extra vocal support when we have those inevitable allergies and colds and hopefully will not "lose" our voices nearly as often! Silent music teachers are not very productive!
Broadways singers and touring rock stars don't sing as many minutes a day as we music teachers do.
We want to be able to be the stars of our classrooms--motivating, demonstrating for and developing the finest young musicians possible for our school, our community and for their own feelings of success and self worth. This truly is an instance where a little investment can make a HUGE difference in our classrooms. Thank you for your help!
