My Students

I have 80 amazing students that I serve for English Language Arts each day. They walk through the classroom door coming from different races, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and learning abilities. We are a family; we work as a team to reach our goals.

We live, laugh, and learn with an enthusiasm that is contagious.

These students are talented artists, musicians, writers, and historians. They are so eager to learn new things and take that learning and apply it to everyday life. We have all embraced the responsibility of learning and know that our futures will be brighter because of it.

Our classroom mantra, adapted from the great Rita Pierson:

I am somebody. I was somebody when I came, and I'll be a better somebody when I leave. I am powerful and I am strong. I deserve the education that I get here. I have things to do, people to impress, and places to go. Yeah!

My Project

Can you hear us now? At one point in the day, I have up to 28 students in my classroom working, collaborating, and creating amazing learning products together. When I need to get their attention, it can be rather difficult.

With this Rechargeable PA System, my students will be able to not only hear me, but also each other!

We will be able to use the microphone piece for sharing our writing and reading with one another. With this product, even my most quiet students will have a voice to share with the entire class. All of our voices matter... they just need to be heard! :)
