My students come to class daily ready to work and play. We are located in a rural section of the most beautiful place in the world (North Carolina). Parents work hard to try to give their students everything they can. Coming from low-income neighborhoods, oftentimes it is hard to help purchase supplies. Despite the struggles that my students face daily, they push through to climb the mountain of success.
It is my goal that every child enjoys learning and grows to be a very successful citizen.
The best way for this to be done is including the family in education. It takes a village to raise a child.
My Project
Our students are in great need of a portable PA system and microphones. Our school has a wonderful auditorium, but someone has cut our sound system cords 3 times this year. With this system we would be able to secure our sound system in the safe while not in use. This sound system would ensure that even the smallest voice is heard. Our school has monthly programs and often times parents struggle to hear what is said. Our students know how hard it is to hear and every show they just kept going! As they say in show business... "The show must go on!" Parents often express their concern about the sound system and quality, but in education funds are not available to replace it. This portable sound system would be an invaluable resource for our school.
