My students need a wireless mic system to use for our theatrical productions.
This project expired on January 16, 2012.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
On May 22, 2011 Joplin, Missouri was hit by an EF-5 tornado. In the path of destruction was our school- everything in the building was a complete loss- including the auditorium and the theatre classroom. This included our costumes, props, lights, make-up, tool and all of our sound equipment.
My students are high poverty, but more importantly they are extremely talented, outgoing and creative.
They love the theatre and have discovered many talents and gained confidence onstage and in the Drama classroom. This year we will be performing on a temporary stage at a temporary school. But, with your help we will be able to put on quality productions and continue the tradition of our program.
In order to do our theatre productions we need to replace our wireless mic system. This system will make it possible for our audience to clearly hear our students as they perform. We especially need this system for our spring musical. It would be a shame if no one could hear all of the students' beautiful voices.
I don't know about you, but the performing arts, and in particular theatre, taught me the most about who I am today.
For me, I felt most at home on the stage. And for many of my students the stage will be the only place they have left to call home. Please help my students as they face this most challenging school year, by giving them an creative outlet on the stage.
