My students need audio equipment, and additional lighting equipment to support their production goals. They are currently working on producing newscasts, short films, and several independent audio production assignments. These products will help them succeed.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Digital communication keeps our world connected and informed. Therefore, I believe it is very important to impart cohesive production skills to the next generation of storytellers.
I am blessed to be able to work with a wonderful group of budding documentarians, broadcasters, producers and designers who need better equipment to keep their education current and productive.
They are title one students, and many would not have access to or the knowledge of what it takes to create cohesive content were it not for their experience in my class.
I am looking to provide them with headphones, microphones, and lighting equipment to aid them in their creative education.
My Project
My students will enjoy these audio production tools because they will finally be able to hear their hard work when it is done! They will enjoy the lighting equipment because they will be able to conduct their news productions in a manner that replicates a real broadcast.
Currently, they do not have a way of accurately measuring the audio on any project they produce, and it is not until after they have worked so hard on the script, or the visuals that they discover the sound is...blech.
The audio equipment will help them learn about the crucial relationship between audio production and visual production by making them more aware of the way decent audio and audio editing can make or break any project. The lighting equipment will be added to our current collection and serve as a reinforcement to keep their in studio projects correctly lit and looking great.
