I have the privilege of teaching in a public elementary school in Delaware that actually has a computer lab as an expressive arts class that all 800 plus students attend once a week as part of their weekly schedule. My students are the young ones from kindergarten through 5th grade.
The computer lab is used to it’s fullest with 8000 fingers touching the equipment weekly!
Students enjoy the use of technology and are always eager to learn new skills, practice online skills and show their creative side with many applications. They are amazing with their use of technology and are true students of the technology age they live in. In order to keep them prepared it is important that the tools and equipment we have in the lab is kept up to date and readily available to all students. How can we learn and teach technology skills when key components are needed? My students rely on everything working and being available when they come into the lab each week to learn. I also rely on everything working and creating the best learning environment possible for my amazing students.
My Project
Students use many applications that require sound from skill based apps to high stake testing. Headphones are an essential part of successful learning with applications that have sound. High quality headphones are important with the amount of weekly use they get with 800+ students using them weekly in the computer lab.
All students cannot provide their own headphones or earbuds and if they do they are not always reliable and they must use what I can provide in the lab.
The lab has 34 computers so this is just a start to good quality headphones that can with stand a lot of use and are sized for smaller heads. The volume control level is an import part of this headphone selection limiting the volume range to protect those sensitive little ears from the volume being to high.
