At our school we have 488 scholars in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. As the PE teacher at Ferguson, I am lucky enough to get to work with every scholar who attends our school. Our classroom celebrates each student's individuality, and we work everyday to build a strong community of learners. My class teaches students about the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. Ferguson scholars are active, energetic, and enthusiastic about leading an active lifestyle. Tigers are also taught to be safe, respectful, and responsible. To celebrate our Star Tigers, our school hosts three award ceremonies in our school gym. At this time our current gymnasium has a PA system that does not work very well, and students cannot hear myself or any other guests using our gym for assemblies or other events.
During physical education classes we use music all day, everyday. We also use music to incorporate dance lessons and signal transitions within the classroom. These speakers and PA system would help make sure that all of my students are able to hear the music anywhere in the gym. Please help us get a PA system for our gym so we can use technology to enable students to lead a healthy lifestyle, and celebrate their successes in our school award assemblies.
Who doesn't like to have music to listen to while working out?
It helps to uplift spirits, and students can work out along with the beat of the music. These speakers would also be used throughout the school year for various purposes including recognizing safe, responsible, and respectful Tigers!
