My Students

Every day, all of our students are eager to learn and practice academic skills in engaging ways. As First Graders, having multiple pathways to practice essential skills, enhances academic growth.

The students at our school come from varied families, cultures, and backgrounds.

Students and families are excited about what new adventures this year will bring.

First Grade can be a big growing year both academically and socially. Students are ready and eager to learn new things and have new experiences.

My Project

First grade students are learning to read. There are many parts to learning to read. As students are learning to read they need to increase their vocabulary. One way to do this is to listen to other people read. These Nooks and covers will be a great addition to help practice foundational reading skills.

Books can open up different worlds for students to explore.

For some students who are learning to read, listening to higher level books gives them this opportunity. The challenge of reading unknown words can be a speed bump for some students. When students can not only hear new stories but also follow along in print their reading skills can rise.
