My Students

Help my students increase their fluency rates and become successful readers.

I have 20 students on various reading levels in my class.

They love reading but they need help building fluency. Many of them struggle with being able to read with expression. Listening to reading helps but I feel like they would benefit from listening to themselves read. Our school is a low income school and does not have the funds to buy the microphones needed for students to easily record themselves while reading.

My Project

These microphones can be used during Daily 5 Reading to Self time. A student can record while reading and then easily listen to themselves. This will help them to listen to how they sound and make adjustments to improve their reading fluency rate and become better readers.

My students will become more confident readers as well. These children are our future and we need to give them the tools to be the best they can be!
