My school is in a high-needs city where many of my students are English Language Learners or special education students. Each year we receive several newcomer students that will experience their first year in American schools. Providing multi-model experiences and opportunities help my students learn and grow.
This year my classroom has 24 children who come from various backgrounds, learning levels, and educational needs.
Being able to communicate and express ideas and thoughts is critical for my students, especially my special education and second language students who struggle greatly. Our school believes every child has the ability to be successful and to grow as learners when they have the right tools and supports. I believe that with the right materials, effective teaching, and high expectations each of my students will make successful growth this year.
My Project
These headphones will provide my students with the opportunity to focus on individualized learning using technology. With each child having their own headphone set they will be able to store their own materials safely and avoid them spread of germs.
Students in my classroom use technology to access math lessons, phonics activities, and complete listening and reading tasks.
Having headphones allow them to work with minimal distractions from other students. Online programs allow children to work at different levels while allowing myself to work with other small groups during school time. Later on in my day I am able to provide feedback to those that worked online allowing me to give feedback to more students than I would normally be able to.
