Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What makes my students special? Everything! I have been amazed these past few weeks by my students. It is my third year of teaching, and I have been blown away. My students come from varying backgrounds. Most of them receive free or reduced price-lunch, and they always want to help around the classroom or the school to earn money for science camp.
My students have become patrons of the arts this year.
Through our partnership with Disney Musicals in Schools and Bay Area Children's Theater, my students have been able to see what goes into a real production and put on one of their own. They have been so excited to put on Aladdin!
My Project
Our cast members have been working hard on their production of Aladdin. They are dedicated, hard-working, and enthusiastic about our performance. Our students do not have much exposure to the arts, so being able to do this production is an eye-opening, new experience for them.
We got a grand theater for them to perform in, we just need microphones so the audience can hear their beautiful voices!
These microphones will help the main cast members be heard throughout the theater. We have a mic system in the theater, but we do not have individual microphones for the main cast members. We got a few to start with for the main cast members, but we need a few more so all our cast members can be heard!
