Help me give my students headphones to listen and learn with technology.

The wonderful thing about our school is that we are a Creative Arts Magnet, and we have a lot of flexibility when teaching the students. We are able to streamline our lessons to meet their instructional needs towards their individual learning styles. Over the past few decades, research in the field of learning has led to the discovery of the theory of multiple intelligences. This theory states that each person has different ways of learning and different intelligences that they use in their daily lives. While some can learn very well in a linguistically-based environment (reading and writing), others are better taught through mathematical-logic based learning. Still others benefit most from body-kinesthetic intelligence (learning by doing with the hands). Each person possesses each intelligence to an extent, but there is always a primary, or more dominant, intelligence.
Teaching in a small, close-knit, economically challenged community definitely has its advantages and disadvantages, and I don't take that lightly.
I have been in this district for 16 years, and I already know many of the families that have joined me at the new school.
The use of iPads is almost a daily activity in my classroom, in both reading and math. What becomes a problem is the fact that many of my students arrive at school in August without all of the items on their supply lists. One of the items on the supply list is for the students to bring in ear buds or headphones for personal use when they are on the iPads. Often times my students are only able to bring in earbuds from the dollar store and while they do work, often times the quality of the ear buds is limited and they do not stand up to daily use. By having this classroom set of headphones and the storage bags to keep them in my students can have a better experience on the iPads and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the assigned academic material and not have to worry about whether their headphones are going to work or not. Plus in this technology saturated world, quality interaction with updated technology will increase their desire and motivation to learn.
