My Students

I strive to create an environment in which my students feel safe, welcomed, and loved. They have the chance to explore, discover, learn, and grow during First Grade.

They are young, creative minds that have a desire and need for knowledge.

They have a natural, respectful attitude and are curious as to how they can make our classroom, school, and community a better place. There is a buzz about books in my classroom and they deserve resources to fulfill that buzz and excitement.

My Project

Whisper phones allow students to practice oral reading skills, both with written text and their own writing. After inheriting a few whisper phones from a fellow teacher, my students have been able to express themselves through reading and writing that they may otherwise may not have been able to. I'd love to take the opportunity into a whole class setting, rather than a small group. By utilizing whisper phones, we can encourage students to develop their oral language skills through reading!

Using whisper phones during independent reading time will increase student motivation and excitement!

My goal is to incorporate whisper phones into our daily writing routine where students can read their own writing and make changes as necessary. Whisper phones will help develop readers and writers in our first grade classroom.
