"It takes a TEAM to Educate a Child!" I teach fourth grade reading, and I need help from some awesome "FANS" to support our team! We are members of a "team" in Alabama and are currently in a desperate financial situation in a high poverty Title I school.

My students LOVE to read! The problem is that some of them have difficulty reading fourth grade level text independently. In order to keep all students actively engaged in our classroom, we would love to have a listening center. At the listening center, students can listen to our story of the week, books on cd that they have selected for enjoyment, and even books that have been recorded by the principal and other faculty members!

To make this dream a reality, my students need a cd player, headphones, and a jack for multiple sets of headphones. We will also need books on cd that the students may select to listen to for enjoyment. One of my main goals in my reading classroom is to establish a love for reading within my students. Providing them with multiple opportunities to listen to and read award winning literature, is an excellent way to foster their love for reading.

My students are striving daily to be successful for themselves, their parents, and their school. The financial situation of our school district is disheartening, but you would never know it from the looks on these children's faces or the desire they have in their hearts. I encourage you to support this project, as you will have a hand in educating young students whom are the leaders of tomorrow!
