My students need new, working headphones to complete their online activities as well as large ziplock bags that will hold their belongings they travel to and from school with.
I teach in a Title I school in Northwest Missouri. I teach third grade and have an average of 22 students every year. I live in an area with high mobility with many students moving in or out of our classroom throughout the year. As a teacher of low income/high poverty children I have to be very creative in how I engage students.
My students face numerous challenges both in and outside of the classroom, it is important I get creative with my kiddos to give them meaningful experiences that will help them reach their potential.
My Project
My school is building a new addition this summer and my grade level will be moving in to it. The new space will be completely innovative and we will be going into a co-teaching model. We are looking to have 50-60 in one room with two teachers sharing all teaching responsibilities.
I would love to have a pair of nice, working headphones, for each of our kiddos to have available to them.
Each child has their own Chrome book to use throughout the day for different activities online. With 50-60 children all working on their computers at the same time, it is important they have a pair of headphones to keep them focused on their work and lessen the distraction of other computer activities.
In this new learning space, children coat hanger closets will be kept inside the classroom. It would be great to have large zip bags for students to hang their belongings they carry with them to and from school in. This will keep down on the transferring of little critters that sometimes ride to school with kiddos.
