I have the honor of teaching the most intelligent, enthusiastic, and knowledge-thirsty students in the world. I teach first grade at a Title I, low income, high poverty school, and I absolutely LOVE teaching there.
Each and every day I have 22 eager students enter my classroom, hungry for knowledge!
They come in every morning so excited about all the new things they are going to experience each and every day. Their faces are reflective of excitement that can only come from the joy of being a child! I consider myself so blessed on a daily basis to get the opportunity to watch them grow, learn, and experience daily learning and life.
This year, my school gained the funds to become 1-1 with Chromebooks. With all the students now having access to laptops, they need headphones. Laptops have changed the way students learn, and are a great tool in the classroom. We have reading programs that require students to really listen to the words and sounds. These headphones will be especially helpful when beginner readers listen to audio books.
Due to the financial status of many of my students, they cannot afford to buy their own headphones.
The majority of our headphones have lived their life and are no longer working. Without headphones, it is very distracting to those around us. I also have a student with hearing-aids that will be able to focus on hearing better with less distractions in the classroom. These headphones will allow us to focus and be in charge of our own learning! With your donation all of my students will be able to succeed, no matter what their financial background is!
