Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in my class are like no other. My 6, 7, and 8 years old are very eager to learn anything and everything. They live in a very close knit community surrounded by low poverty. Some of the students in our school only eat when they are here. Luckily, ALL students get a free breakfast and lunch. On weekends we send home food bags. They deserve to come to a classroom full of technology, educational games, and engaging activities and not have to worry about anything else. Please help me to achieve these goals!

My Project

Our school is a 1 to 1 school. This means that every child has either a laptop or an iPad. The students in my class use their iPads for tests, assignments, practice, and free time. Some of the activities we do on the iPads require sound. Other apps read books to the students. Most of my class is on a Pre-K to 1st grade reading level. Headphones would help students who have a hard time reading or students who are distracted easily. These items were listed on our supplies list however, only 2 students brought them in. These are a necessity in our classroom
