Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are third graders. They are learning that it's okay to make mistakes.

I work in a low income area.

The area is unsafe for children to play outside. The families that attend our school appreciate the school and the teachers that work there. Everyday my students come to school with positive attitudes. They are especially excited to have new technology to use this year as they explore the world.

My Project

Our school has received an Apple grant. Each classroom will have iPads for the students. Many of the programs available for the students involve improving reading skills by reading and recording their voices. The students can them listen to their reading and strive to improve fluency. I can also, listen to the students recordings and make suggestions to address areas for improvement. We also need hand wipes and tissues to keep hands clean and germs away from the iPads.

Technology in the classroom is made tremendously more useful with the right accessories.

These headphones with microphones will go a long way towards improving the literacy of my students. My students know that if they can read, they can do anything.
