Every day my students say "My headphones aren't working," or "I can't hear anything." Our headphones are a mess and my students need to hear the computer and the iPads.
My 19 first grade students are an amazing bunch of leaders.
We have really become a family this school year. What is even better is that we all get to stay together and move on to 2nd grade. The majority of my students are either on free or reduced lunch. They all enjoy coming to school and we always have fun learning together. We are the inclusion room which means we have many different levels of learners. My students do not judge each other on what they can and can't do in the classroom. They are all kind to one another and they work together so well.
I love when my students cheer each other on to make a goal and even more so when they know and understand that some students need more. You will not hear my students complain about what another student gets to do. They truly are an amazing group!
My Project
I have asked for 6 pairs of wireless headphones. These headphones will make a huge impact on my students. They will be able to do so many things with them. We have 8 iPads in our classroom and most of the time we do not have enough working headphones to use them on the iPads. The students have to struggle to hear what is coming out of the iPad and many times it distracts other students that may be working in another center.
The headphones will also be used with the computers and even our Smartboard. They can be fully engaged with their task at hand when they have good working headphones. I have also asked for a paper organizer so that students can complete their work and then put it right in their box. This will really help my students to be more independent with their finished work.
Having these headphones will truly change the way we learn in our classroom.
There are so many great things for the students to hear on the iPads, computers, and the Smartboard. I would like for them to be able to hear without it being such as hassle. We will even be able to use them again next year since we will be staying together for 2nd grade. Thank you so much!
