Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has a college-bound focus as well as an emphasis on the arts. My students ROCK! They work so hard every day to learn and grow. I'm so proud of them!
We have a "Rockstar" theme in our room to encourage them to be their best and let their spirits shine!
I am lucky enough to have had all of them last year for second grade, and I get to go with them all to third! How lucky are we? We're excited for our second year together and some new adventures!
My Project
I am requesting a PA speaker system with a microphone to use on our classroom stage. My third graders are finding their voices and building the confidence to make themselves heard. They will read stories and poems, give speeches, share news, perform skits and read pieces they're written, all on our very own classroom "rock star" stage!
Using a microphone and speaker on our stage will make my students feel special, important, and heard.
This will also help them to build confidence and skill in public speaking and peer interaction. Listening to their peers "perform" will help them learn more from each other. Plus it's FUN! We can even take our shows "on the road" by taking it outside or to another classroom. Parents will enjoy visiting our "theatre" and seeing their children shine as they proudly display their skills and talents.
