My students are amazing scholars that try their best to learn each and every day. The are a diverse group with about 1/3 of them ...second language learners. Together they speak over 7 different languages!
Due to the location of my public school, we are not a Title 1 Funded school and thus do not receive additional funds to provide technology or supports with this unique group of learners.
My students, however, are mighty, have extreme grit, and make the most of every learning opportunity given them!
We are a Google classroom and love to add all types of learning opportunities that involve technology. We are limited on the technology tools we have but we make the most of our Chromebook station and listening center! However, those stations require that each scholar have a proper working headphone. Many scholars are sensitive to the oversized type and others can't wear the earbuds.
My Project
To access all types of listening and technology learning opportunities, it is beneficial for each scholar to have their own headphone. Unlike earbuds that are easily tangled and unsanitary, these headphones are comfortable and easily used over and over again. Although asked to provide a pair of their own headphones at the beginning of the year, many of my scholar family's could not make this donation. A few students had really expensive headphones and others had some from the dollar store and again...some had none. In order for uniformity and equal learning opportunities, I would love to have a class set that can be shared and utilized by all students. The headphones will be used at the listening center (CDs), Chromebook station and for our walking MP3 players. The multipurpose headphones selected are not huge, can easily be stored and are well made to last throughout the year.
I would be blessed to have a complete class set of what I have found to be the perfect headphone from Lakeshore.
