My students need headphones to make the best use of the one-to-one technology we are blessed with. We also need some organizational items such as privacy partitions and bins to help the day run smoothly.
My students are full of life and energy. They come to school eager to learn, but often without the necessary tools to do so. Many have boundless energy without the ability to harness it to use for academic discovery. I teach in a Title I school outside of Houston, TX, so in addition to the high number of students on free and reduced rate lunch, many students have experienced loss and all are recovering from the trauma of Hurricane Harvey. The potential of my students is incredible; my goal daily is to help them achieve it.
With the requested headphones, my students will be able to hear instructions and examples on their educational technology. This is HUGE for my slightly behind little friends. They need the extra help these programs provide without disturbing others or being disturbed themselves. The other items will help our day run without a hitch. With these bins, everyone will know what to do and where to find everything. We are also in desperate need of new privacy folders (we call them offices) as ours are beaten up and not tall enough to keep us from seeing each other during tests and independent work. We will be so grateful to have these items!
