Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a special education teacher, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences to help close the achievement gap and prepare them to be successful and productive members of society.

My students are motivated and excited about their learning, especially when the learning is authentic, meaning that their activities closely parallel real-world experiences, problems, and solutions, and when they are able to use various resources, technology and manipulatives to support their learning.

Now that school is being held virtually, my students need, technology and resources to assist them with their educational journey.

My Project

Students in my classroom will use the materials I am requesting on a daily basis. I often teach and assign reading and math instructional lessons through digital curriculum formats. If my students have access to headphones they will be able to attentively listen, focus and complete the lessons assigned while improving their reading and math skills.

These headphones will be a game changer for my students!

Having access to headphones will allow my students the opportunity to complete these lessons and enhance their learning as well as prepare for end of the year tests and exams that are computer based.
