We are a small, multicultural elementary school in East Oakland with the challenge of finding creative ways to make education accessible for our students. Many of our students live in East Oakland, where the rents are climbing too high for families to afford. This has forced a lot of families to move out of Oakland and makes it challenging for students to get a consistent education. At least 75% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch and do not get out of their neighborhoods much. We want to offer our students the ability to learn and develop academic and technology skills.
We love our students and we want them to love learning.
Our students are amazing, curious, and we want them to be able to focus one learning, not what they wear or will they have food to eat. We want our students to be able to continue on with their education at our school and find their gifts. We are the village for our students. And they are our future.
Our students love learning in Technology class. I want our students to have all the tools they need to learn new tools, skills, and games in Technology. We need new headphones to replace the ones that do not work anymore. Some of our headphones have gotten worn out over the past couple years.
I want our students to be able to focus on the learning and the fun in class.
New headphones will help our class get off to a good start this year. Headphones are invaluable tool for learning with chrome books. They help to ensure students can focus on their own lessons and games on their own computer. This helps students to develop a sense of independent work.
