My Students

I am fortunate to be teaching the Spanish portion of a dual language program. Each of the two classes will receive 50 percent of instruction in English and 50 percent of instruction in Spanish. My students are divided into classes of 25 and are very eager to learn. It is amazing to see how they comprehend and eventually speak Spanish later in the year.

My school is a Title I school where every child receives free breakfast and lunch daily.

We are also located near a very large military installation so I happily serve military families. My class is very diverse but they all have one thing in common: their love of learning!

My Project

Our school district has graciously given us a new laptop for use in our classroom. There is only one small problem...I have 25 students and the speaker isn't nearly loud enough for all of them to hear. A Bose wireless speaker will eliminate the mess of cords as well as help my students to hear their lessons.

I teach all lessons in Spanish which is new to almost all of my students.

The first year of a dual language class involves mostly listening before the children can apply what they have learned. That is awfully difficult to do when they cannot hear the Spanish lessons. A Bose wireless speaker is the instant solution to this problem and will make a tremendous difference in my classroom.
