I teach in a very rural public school with a high poverty rate and extremely limited resources. We are the only elementary school in our district and our school is surrounded by farmland, with the closest town being about 5 miles away. Every student at our school receives free breakfast and lunch through a national program. I teach about 55 second graders on a daily basis that love learning and are excited to come to school every day. School is the only constant in some of my students' lives, so I always strive to create a safe and positive learning environment for my students.
My students are authors, illustrators, readers, mathematicians, historians, and scientists.
They have big dreams, and I want them to be able to achieve those dreams! My dream is to provide them with everything they need in order to be able to succeed inside and outside if the classroom.
My Project
My classroom computers are always filled with students, where they are taking AR tests, reading books on Epic, completing lessons on Moby Max or Prodigy, or completing other center games or activities. The are almost always in use. Over the recent years, I have spent lots of money at the beginning of the year on headphones and only by the end of most years, almost all the headphones has been damaged one way or another from so much use. I am constantly hearing "I can't hear it" when the headphones are messed up or broken from everyday use.
By donating to this project, you will be helping purchase 1 set of 8 extremely durable headphones for my classroom computers.
My students will be able to always hear their computer activities as well as making sure that all 6 of my computers always have a working set of headphones. My students LOVE using my computers and I want to provide them with durable headphones that they can always use!
