My Students

I teach computer science to students in 7th-12th grade. These students deal with difficult concepts, learn programming fundamentals and digital literacy concepts. They love creating and building personal custom projects. Students in my class are great storytellers, comedians, and artists they take their interests and infuse them into their work.

My students are problem solvers, they learn how to create questions and find solutions to all kinds of roadblocks, glitches, and bugs.

If a student doesn't know how to do something in class, they collaborate with each other and share the knowledge they've learned. If a student builds or finds something really cool they spread it so other students can take part and share in their discoveries.

My Project

Having a classroom set of headphones will allow for a number of benefits to my students. Many times in the computer lab there are instructions included on videos or with audio and having headphones will allow students to listen to those instructions without distracting other students. Headphones also allow students with sensory sensitivities or with difficulty concentrating to create a quieter atmosphere where they can learn more successfully.

Students can create great things when given the opportunity to wear headphones and have the chance to really focus.

I would also like to have headphones available for checkout, for ELL purposes, and for students that use audio resources to help enrich their education.
