Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
According to the National Science Foundation, " To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past."
I work with an amazing group of children who are eager to learn.
I enjoy seeing the excitement in their eyes when we get ready for school every day. My students come from diverse backgrounds which makes them unique. Many of my students come from low-income families; however, they are the best kids on the planet.
My Project
Pursuing an occupation in STEM or becoming engaged with STEM at a young age will open countless doors for a lifetime. As an educator, I feel it is my responsibility to provide my students with every possible exciting opportunity to learn about the field. I am requesting a kit that will allow me to bring engaging STEM activities and real-world activities.
Acquiring a STEM degree is one of the smartest education paths for young girls today because of the significant benefits to be gained.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, those with a STEM degree earn on average 26 percent more than their non-STEM counterparts.
Hence I am requesting a cabinet to store all our things away and have all supplies ready and available to all of our students. Currently, the students place their robots on the floor. It would be ideal for them to place their materials in a cabinet. This will help my special needs population with organizational skills.
