My Students

My classroom consists of 75 amazing students that are eager to dive into materials deeper and discover things that have yet to be seen. We are a Title I school that has more than half of our students receiving free or reduced rate lunches. Deeply embedded in a small neighborhood, my hope for each one of my students is to be able to look back and say -WOW that year was fun! Thanks to our donors, I was able to achieve my goals!

My Project

This project will help me boost family support while enhancing literacy at home. Parents send us the very best they have, and often want to participate in the activities, but scheduling is a major issue. The take home Family Engagement Reading Packs will allow my families to have fun with their students, while enhancing their learning. The end result will ultimately be better overall skill retention and improved family connections. Letting the families play the games at their leisure and inside their own comfort zone, will also help remove barriers that will prevent a good relationship with the family that is conducive to the students' overall academic performance.
