I have 30 students who come from different types of backgrounds, but all share the same love for learning. We are a PreK-6th grade school in Hawaii, and our vision is to provide a foundation on which each student's academic potential is developed in a nurturing environment.
A large percentage of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and school is the one place that some of them can feel safe and cared for.
We do our best to provide them with everything that they need; however, there are always ways to improve and maximize their success!
I teach in an amazing school with passionate teachers who only have one goal in mind. They want to educate our amazing students.
Our students are funny, creative, smart, corny, and brilliant. As their teacher, it is my job to ensure that they are getting the proper education that they deserve and all the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
Our classroom library is a place that our students really enjoy. By having these books it will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that we strive to create. Every student book that is placed in our library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. This book has been chosen with our students in mind and will engage students at their age level. Students will be able to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, our students will be able to read a book together and/or independently and have discussions to support reading comprehension and engagement.
The best way to increase a child's reading ability is to expose them to different reading materials, these books will continue to help our students grow into lifelong readers.
