My students are enthusiastic, loud, creative, excited and eager. They love getting messy and doing hands-on activities in science class. When they come in each day, the first thing they always ask is, "Are we doing a hands-on activity today?!"
My students are 6th and 7th graders in a low income, Title 1 neighborhood school where many of them speak a language other than English at home.
Our school serves students in an urban setting grades K-8 and provides students with a supportive environment to flourish as students, athletes, engineers, artists and more! Our goal is to prepare students for the best high schools in Chicago.
I'm asking for two Sphero robots, cases and a piano coding device to help encourage my students love of technology. Careers in computer science are increasing rapidly and making sure our students are well equipped to fill those jobs is important to me.
Understanding computers and learning the basics of coding helps children to develop an appreciation of how things work.
As a science teacher this is my job! I love being able to investigate problems and help students figure out how to solve those problems in a variety of ways. The ability to solve problems is a trait that is useful in life in general.
