My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 30 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
The Q-Ball is not just a microphone. It is a wonderful tool that will enable student voice, allows for collaboration and encourages active listening skills. This technology takes away the stress many of my students have when answering a question or sharing information in front of their peers because it provides a fun way to speak that will have all students raising their hands for their turn to be heard.
As an educator, my mission is to empower my students and provide them with tools that will enhance their learning experience and to provide a safe space where their voice will be heard and supported.
The Q-Ball is an awesome learning tool that will support my classroom in so many ways, including small, and whole group discussions, presentations and more, and help my shy students become engaged in classroom discussions while having fun! This tool will be a great addition to our classroom and will dramatically increase student participation in all activities!
