Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Big cheesy grins is what I am met with every morning. I treasure the hope and great attitudes towards coming to school. Each day I try to give them a reason to want to learn, but they give me a better reason to want to teach. It is a place full of energy and dreams.The students are pushing toward excellence and think positively.

As we enter into this last quarter of the year, I find my students are needing a boost to learn.

So often, distractions come at home, changes of caregivers, or living accommodations. The children are still quite resilient, and I want to encourage a strong finish.

My Project

My students are behind due to teacher changes mid year. I really believe they have the ability to learn quickly. We have a lot of reading games but very few math enhancements. My students are very active and need stimulation to focus on learning. I believe they have the ability to catch up and some have signed up for Saturday school. In light of that, please help me give them tools to work independently while I teach smaller group times. The students have proven their willingness to try. They only need a little encouragement to keep trying. Can we count on you to help them?
