Can We Catch Your Attention?
My students need a therapy ball seat and ball rebounder with a ball to help them stay focused and improve attention.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a world where every noise around you distracted you from what you were trying to do? I would love to have resources in my classroom to help my students who struggle with focusing their attention. With therapy balls, I can provide them support.
Welcome to my classroom!
My school is a public, elementary school serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. My classroom is filled with children with exceptional needs who are extremely eager to learn. My students range from age 5 to age 11, with mild to moderate disabilities. Since each of my children have the ability to succeed, I have made it my priority to provide them with the resources they need to help them achieve to their potential.
The resources requested will change my students' lives for the better because they will be able to use therapy balls in my classroom to improve their focus and attention. Using therapy balls will help me to keep my students engaged in the task and promote active learning.
There is a great deal of research on the use of therapy balls in the classroom to promote focus and attention. I will be able to work with groups of students on academic goals and be more productive because I will have the necessary materials to help them meet their goals in other areas, too. Before or after our lessons in reading and math, I can provide those students who require sensory input some time using the therapy balls with the ball retractor.
Though this project will only fund one big therapy ball chair, my goal is to eventually have enough ball chairs for each of my students who struggle with focus and attention to have one to sit on during class instruction. These materials will benefit my kids so much!
Currently, there are few materials available in my classroom to help my students with focus and attention.
However, I have goals on many of their Individual Education Plans to support them with their skills in this area. My students need therapy balls available in my classroom to improve performance in all academic areas.
