My classroom consists of 20 precious students, seven of which are in resource (special education) but are mainstreamed into my class. I also have five gifted/talented students, as well as a gifted/talented "pull-out" science class.
The district in which I teach has very limited funding. We are a very rural, poor county. Teachers are given a small amount of money at the beginning of each school year to buy necessary supplies (such as copy paper, overhead pens, and transparencies). By the time we buy the basic necessities, the district's money has been used. Everything that is not part of the basics are left up to the teacher to buy.
I am in need of some basic school necessities. I need an overhead projector cart (as the table I am currently using is old and wobbly), and a stool to meet the height requirements of the new cart. I am also in desperate need of some pencil sharpeners, as well as overhead pens, white-board markers, transparencies, ink for my printer, and other basic supplies. I have been buying these supplies year after year with my own money, but since the recent birth of my second child, money is a bit tighter than usual. Your help will be greatly appreciated!!
