I concentrate on creating “Positive Digital Footprints” for each of my 430 seventh grade students. I am passionate about my subject! I love what I do and truly believe that my lessons are relevant, engaging as well as educational. My students use Google Apps to collaborate with their peers.
My students are engaged by tech!
They want to be on their devices to learn. I latched onto that concept and want to use it!
I empower my student-led classroom by encouraging them to actively tutor the students who do not have my class, to use the tools in Google while creating a positive digital footprint. This will build confidence and empathy for while engaging in project-based learning activities. They will share their knowledge of these skills through social media, web 2.0 tools as well as video tutorials and demonstrations.
My Project
I teach my student to waste not, want not... but from time to time they need to print out their artwork. I never have enough paper to print out their masterpieces! The will have an anti-cyberbullying campaign.
I want to use their digital advertisements to hang around the school to wipe out cyberbullying.
I need paper to print them out.
I will be posting their work on the school's website and Twitter as well... but hanging posters around the school will remind them when they are unplugged. By creating the posters the students will be proactive in putting an end to this culture.
