Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine trying to concentrate at school while having hunger pains. That is all too common with many of my students. I knew they needed more, when they would complain about how hungry they were. I started a snack bin where students can eat snacks during small group instruction. Majority of the students at our school come from low income households and many come to school without having breakfast.

Students need some nutrients to be able to focus throughout the school day.

It is heartbreaking to see students hungry, so that is why I am asking for support for snacks for students. Students also ask for snacks as a reward for good behavior. These snacks will be available to students who need them.
