My elementary school is a small neighborhood school in Denver, Colorado with a diverse student body and a revamped staff to start our 2018-19 school year. Our students come from low socially economic households making our school a Title I and dubbed as the "Rescue Mission" by news articles across Denver. Nevertheless, our students come to school ready to make gains and grow continuously in their skills.
My English Language Arts class is a place for students to focus on reading, writing and expanding their vocabulary while enjoying themselves by getting lost in a book.
My school uses the "platoon" method giving me the opportunity to focus on the literacy content while having the entire third and fourth grade class for parts of the day.
I am requesting a set of reading games for my students to use during our reading stations. Can Do! Reading Games are an incredible resource for my students to use for an independent work station during our stations block. Students will be able to practice various reading skills while playing and working together.
These games are engaging as much as they are useful in helping my students, as they become skilled readers.
As teachers, we want to be sure that our students are practicing their reading skills in fun and meaningful ways. What better way to practice comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills than with friends?!
