My Students
Our school is an arts school. The students are gifted in visual and performing arts. They are motivated and enthusiastic about learning, and they make connections between what we study and their own areas of interest. They enjoy being active and creative.
Since they are visual and performing arts students, they bring many special talents to class.
As an English teacher, I have many opportunities to draw on their talents. My students love to express themselves through art, music, drama, and writing. They come from all over the area.
My Project
Having a computer will help me plan interesting and interactive lessons for my students. I design lessons that include a word of the day, journal writing, and discussion.
Being able to prepare my lessons digitally and project them for my students makes the lessons clear and engaging.
I often show images or video clips along with the text. Comparing and contrasting different media builds my students’ analytical skills.
My students are able to contribute directly to classroom learning and be more involved by looking up information on the spot. For group projects, having a computer in the classroom gives my students a way to share their resources through Google docs.
