My Students

I am blessed to teach 6-8th grade students in a school where music is valued. Our students may not always have what they need in life, but we work hard every day to make sure that we help them get there. Music allows them a release from the tougher parts of their lives and gives them a positive outlet. I want to be able to continue to give them more than expected so that they can become even better performers than they ever dreamed.

My amazing kids are ready to take things to the next level of performance!

Our school boasts 200 out of 325 students participating in the choral music program. The students are proud of what they can do and for a small school, we have a surprisingly large number of talented students. I want to continue to give them everything I can but need more training myself to become what they need.

My Project

This week-long camp/workshop provides an educational experience for teachers in the performing arts field. I will learn effective ways to help motivate my students in performance, dedication, and self-discipline. I will be able to participate in choreography, music and educational clinics that cover a wide range of needs.

Going to Camp will provide me with professional development opportunities that are unique in the industry and will provide me with new knowledge to bring back to my kids.

The training and ideas that I will be able to absorb will provide a hands-on learning experience that I can transfer to my students. This opportunity will allow me to take my music direction and show planning to the next level and will enable me to give my students the knowledge and skills they need to be better performers on the stage.
