Came In Like a Wrecking Ball.....Flexible Seating for 3rd Graders

My students need ball chairs for flexible seating options in order to be able to participate in legitimate movement while learning. Movement helps the brain, and we want our scholars to learn all they can!

My Students

Our students come from many different backgrounds: some rural, some urban, some suburban due to our very unique attendance zone. Some are the first in their families to make it to 3rd grade or higher. Some are the first in their families to learn English. Some are the first in their families to receive regular dental care due to our community outreach dental van. Some believe in the power of education as their migrant families tell them daily, that it's the way to better life opportunities.

All our students deserve the very best we can give-every day.

They deserve to feel loved, motivated, and challenged. Above all, they deserve to feel free to make mistakes and get what they need to succeed.

My Project

My students are active, vibrant, creative, smart little human beings. These chairs would allow them to use some of that extra energy in a rational way. Being able to roll around, legitimately, while practicing or honing a new skill, would allow my students to put all their working memory into the task at hand.

Everyone in my class would benefit from this project.

We would take turns with the chairs, and hopefully slowly add more to our classroom. These chairs would also take our classroom "fun factor" up a notch. I can't wait to hear how excited they are to come back to school where they have fun, see friends, and learn new things.
