This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Oh the places we will go in 4th grade! What a wonderful year to be a student! Independence is fostered and grows, creativity is cultivated and flourishes, and skills in reading and math skyrocket!

My students are from Camden City, New Jersey.

Many have been wintered and weathered by storms experienced in their short, tiny lives. They have hearts of gold and despite the negativity that surrounds them, persevere with a force that is admirable. Our school is over 100 years old and is not yet equipped with today's technological advances, including air conditioning. But, we survive and thrive. Daily challenges are thrown our way, heartbreaks are inevitable, but deep compassion and caring keeps us going.

My Project

I am requesting 3 iPads that will be utilized during my small guided group learning. On these iPads, students will be able to read a leveled online book, play a leveled math game, explore the universe during science, and take a trip through time in social studies.

These iPads will allow me to better make a connection to these students' lives.

They do not go outside and play, and instead spend most of their time on whatever technology may be in their homes. These iPads will allow me to find games and activities and books that are on their specific levels, thus allowing for more growth throughout the year.
