Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources!
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day, I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and in return, they exchange a smile back, ready to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome; it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom where they can become lifelong learners.
My Project
Through DonorsChoose, I am hoping to receive fidget tools for my students in our fourth-grade classroom. These tools will allow students to help calm and regulate their bodies during academic classes. I am hoping to also receive pencil grips and whisperphones to help as tools during our learning time in her classroom. These tools will allow students to have a tactile tool to help them. In addition, I am hoping to receive plush cherries for students in the library where they can find a seat and comforting spot to enjoy their reading. Thank you so much for taking your time to look at our DonorsChoose proposal.
