My Students
Our school is a Title One school and over sixty percent of the families receive free or reduced lunch. The students are provided with breakfast, a healthy snack and lunch every school day. Many of my families receive backpack food for the weekends and vacations because many do not have a lot of food at home.
I truly enjoy providing my students with quality things in the classroom to make learning FUN!
Seeing the smiles on their faces when they receive something new is priceless!
My Project
Having kinetic sand, fidget toys and squish and squeeze beads in an area in the classroom for the students to take a break will help them self regulate. When a student needs a calming break, they will be able to go to a spot in the classroom that will have several calming tools to help them refocus so they will be able to continue to learn while at school.
These materials will help my students to self regulate in a quiet way without interrupting the learning of others.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Many students will benefit from these materials in the classroom throughout the school day. It only takes 3-5 minutes to give my students a sense of autonomy and control. My students need a calming corner in the classroom to be successful throughout their day!
