This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies I am requesting for my students will be instrumental in their learning. I have provided a safe learning space for my students but I need your help to create a physical space within my classroom where students can step away when they are experiencing big emotions. The bean bag, wobbly chair and exercise ball are a comfortable and versatile seating option that can be used in a variety of settings. They are perfect for a calming area because they are soft, supportive, and provide a sense of comfort and relaxation. The canopy will create a feeling of enclosure and privacy, which can be especially important for students who are seeking a peaceful and serene environment. Storage bins will help to keep the calming area organized and tidy, which can contribute to a sense of order and calm.

The calming area will provide a number of benefits to students, including:

A safe and supportive space where students can take a break from the demands of the classroom and regroup.

A variety of resources and activities that can help students cope with stress and manage their emotions.

Improved overall well-being and academic performance as a result of being able to relax and recharge.

The creation of a calming area within my classroom will provide students with a dedicated space where they can relax, unwind, and de-stress. This project will not only benefit individual students, but will also contribute to a more positive and supportive classroom culture overall.
