This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember first grade? I remember buying a new Cabbage Patch kids lunchbox, new shoes and the perfect backpack that was too big for me. I was so excited to meet my teacher and make new friends. My students experience the same feelings, but sadly they do not always have the supplies they need.

My passion for teaching grows everyday as I met each challenge that I am faced with.

My students have challenges too and one of my goals is to teach them to handle challenges and to strive to be a productive individual. My classroom is one of their early experiences with learning and providing a safe, stimulating learning environment is key! We work each day to grow and we strive for growth not perfection!

My Project

We love to sit next to each other and learn in our classroom. When we sit on the carpet we are closer to the teacher and that helps us to see and hear all the exciting things she is teaching us. Unfortunately, right now we do not have a rug to sit on and that makes it difficult for us to be comfortable and engaged during our lessons! A beautiful new calming carpet will look so nice in our room and help us be more comfortable as we learn how to read, write, and problem solve. Don't you learn and work better when you are comfortable?
